Getting the specification right the first time
Most quoting delays in hydraulics are ambiguity, not availability. These are the three decisions that settle a specification.
Thread standard before size
BSPP, BSPT, NPT, JIC 37°, ORFS and metric are not interchangeable, and several share a nominal size while differing in thread form, angle and sealing method. State the standard first. If you are not certain which one is on the machine, tell us the machine and where the port sits, and we will work through it with you.
Working pressure, not burst pressure
Quote the continuous working pressure and the peak or surge pressure separately. Hose and fittings are rated with a safety factor against burst, so a component chosen on burst figures alone can still fail in service under repeated impulse.
Fluid and temperature decide the seal
NBR, FKM and EPDM behave very differently against mineral oil, phosphate ester, water glycol and steam. The seal compound, not the body material, is usually what fails first when the fluid is not stated on the enquiry.
Where our range ends. We supply against your specification and we will tell you plainly when something sits outside what we can support, rather than quoting it and finding out later. If it is beyond our supply base, we will say so up front and point you in the right direction.
