Body-side hydraulics live on a chassis that flexes, in weather, with a mixed bag of thread standards on one build. We supply the valves, fittings and hose pipes for those circuits, and we are direct about what falls outside them.

A single body-builder can face NPT on North American chassis, BSP on Asian pumps and valves, JIC on hose ends, ORB on pump and valve ports, and metric 24° cone on European valve blocks. Cross-threading a JIC nut into an ORB port is a frequent, leak-generating mistake.
The chassis flexes against the body under load and over rough ground. Any hose crossing that interface sees movement the rest of the circuit never does, and it fails first.
Liftgates, hook-lift locks and tarp systems run at modest pressure but enormous cycle counts. The hose fails by flex fatigue and cover cracking long before anything approaches a burst rating.
Assemblies built from one maker's hose and another maker's ferrule and fitting compromise coupling retention. Major manufacturers restrict their crimp data to their own combinations and disclaim liability otherwise.
Every hose change in the field is an ingress event. Particles at 4 µm and above attack proportional and servo elements; 6 µm and above accelerates pump and cylinder wear.

They protect different things and are routinely confused. The main relief sits in the inlet section and protects the pump from over-pressure. A circuit relief protects the cylinder in a specific circuit. Fitting the wrong one, or setting one and assuming it covers both jobs, is a common and expensive mistake on tipper and dump-body hydraulics.
The hoist feed is a flexible run from a chassis-mounted valve to a moving body, so it needs to tolerate flex and abrasion against the subframe more than it needs an exotic pressure rating. Two-wire braid to EN 853 2SN is the common construction, with compact braid to EN 857 2SC where the subframe leaves no room for a standard outside diameter.
No. JIC to SAE J514 and ORB to SAE J1926 share the same UN/UNF thread form but seal completely differently. JIC seals on a 37° metal cone; ORB seals on an O-ring compressed against a machined boss face. Assembling one into the other will not seal reliably and can damage the port.
Usually not for the reason people assume. The three real causes are abrasion where the hose rubs the body or subframe, relative motion where the hose crosses the chassis-to-body interface, and routing that violates the minimum bend radius so the inner tube cracks. SAE J1273 covers routing and clamping; SAE J343 covers minimum bend radius.
Both are tapered at the same 1:16 rate, but the thread form angle differs, 55° for BSP and 60° for NPT. In several common sizes they will screw together and appear correct, then weep under pressure because contact is incomplete. BSPP, by contrast, is a parallel thread that seals on a bonded seal against the port face, so without that washer it will not seal at any torque.
We supply the hose, the fittings and the valves. Send the pump and valve port standards, hose lengths, end types and working pressure and we will confirm what we can hold against it. Where a component in the kit is outside our range we will say so rather than substitute something and hope.
Cycle count, not pressure. Liftgates and hook-lift locks run at modest pressure but cycle enormously, so the hose fails by flex fatigue and cover cracking rather than by burst. Specifying by impulse grade under ISO 18752 reflects that duty far better than a pressure rating alone.
